Even moderate drinking of alcohol is damaging to the brain.....

Even little drinking of alcohol causes irreversible damage to brain.

Alcoholics have always been claiming that moderate drinking is good for mental and physical health.

But  latest research shows that even little drinking irreversibly damages the brain.

Even light to moderate drinking can slowly shrink our brain.

Scientists have found that people who drink daily have reduced brain volume, and the risk rises as drinking increases.

This means  brain would actually age faster setting  up  memory problems and dementia later on.

Alcohol gives that familiar buzz by flooding the brain with feel-good chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. While this might make one feel relaxed and more social, it also interferes with how brain cells communicate with one another.

This is the reason that after drinking,   speech becomes clumsy and slurred, movements and memory begins to lapse.

The next day, the hangover hits. This happens because alcohol dehydrates the body, forces liver to work overtime, causes inflammation, disrupts blood sugar, and messes up sleep.

That combo leads to headaches, nausea, fatigue, and serious brain fog.

Even a week later,  mood and sleep can still be off. This is because  brain is trying to balance its chemicals after being overwhelmed by alcohol.

Over the long haul, heavy drinking can cause serious brain conditions like Wernicke’s encephalopathy or Korsakoff syndrome, which affect memory, coordination, and mood.

However a cut back or quit, can heal some damage done to the brain but not fully.
